Does Goat Milk Make You Taller? (Answered!)


I was at a wedding reception the other day with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while.

Meeting their kids again for the first time in a year or two, I was shocked at how much they’d grown up.

They were almost taller than I was.

I jokingly asked what their secret was and, knowing that I too had a small goat herd on my homestead, they insisted it had been all the raw goat’s milk they’d drunk growing up.

I had heard of this idea before, that goat’s milk makes you taller.

I knew they were just joking around really, but I decided to look into it nonetheless.

So, does goat’s milk make you taller?

Goat’s milk does not make anyone grow taller. Lots of milk consumed at a young age will certainly promote healthy growth, but this in reality is just growth to a child’s potential height that they would likely have reached anyway. Milk doesn’t make adults grow taller, but it can help kids grow to their potential height.

In a sense, your diet at a young age is a big part of what will determine how well and how healthily you grow.

Your potential height is, in reality, in your genetic makeup.

If your parents were tall, it is likely you will be too.

But let’s look at how goat’s milk and milk, in general, can help you grow tall.

 

What milk makes you taller?

So, as I’ve said, milk won’t make you grow taller if you’ve already stopped growing.

Nothing can do that.

Your height is your height.

That said, a healthy diet is absolutely essential to achieving healthy growth and a person’s full potential height.

This is one of the reasons so much milk is consumed at an early age.

Milk is considered a key component of a well-rounded diet.

It contains large amounts of essential minerals, like calcium, phosphorous and magnesium.

All of these minerals are essential for bone health, which is the key part of early growth and development.

Milk is also rich in protein: 1 cup contains nearly 8 grams of protein.

Protein is essential for muscle growth and development which, again, will have a direct impact on a person’s height.

So, in 1 cup of goat’s milk, there is about 327mg of calcium.

As compared with cow’s milk, it has a bit more, as cow’s milk only has 305mg.

There is also 9g of protein in 1 cup of goat’s milk compared with only 8g in cow’s milk.

Goat’s milk has more protein per serving than cow’s milk or any plant-based alternative, and it also appears that the protein in goat’s milk is easier to digest.

Goat’s milk, then, is a great option for promoting healthy growth in kids.

They can drink less of it than they would need to with cow’s milk and get the same benefits.

Just, remember, it won’t make you taller—it will only promote growth in young kids who are still growing, and it will only help those kids grow to the potential height that they inherited in their genes.

 

How can I get tall fast?

If you’re young and eager to grow to your full height, the number one thing you’ll have to learn is patience.

There is no shortcut.

You may not stop growing until you’re around 18.

That said, there are a few things you can do regularly to again promote healthy growth and reach your full potential height.

Firstly, you need to eat a good, balanced diet.

Milk and dairy can be a really important part of that, if you don’t have allergies.

As I mentioned, goat’s milk is packed with protein and calcium, so it will help your bones develop properly which is one of the most important things in growth.

Be sparing with supplements; try and get the vitamins from your actual diet, where possible.

Getting the right amount of sleep is also essential.

Young people tend to stay up into the night a lot more than adults, and this can have a negative effect on your growth.

It’s a simple lack of energy.

Without proper sleep, your body will be using excess energy.

Staying active is essential.

Exercise regularly in a way that works for you.

Playing a sport is a good option, going to a gym if you’re old enough, or doing home workouts.

Yoga especially is a great choice, as stretching can help you grow even more.

Excessive weight training can actually have a negative effect on growth, so be careful with that.

Finally practicing good posture will make you appear at your full height, rather than slouching over.

All of this will go together to help you reach your full potential height, but the most important thing is your diet, so let’s take another quick look at milk.

 

How much milk should I drink to get taller?

1 cup of goat’s milk per day is likely to be enough to aid your growth.

Studies have shown that only 1 cup of cow’s milk is enough to make children grow 0.2cm taller on average than their age group.

Non-cow’s milks like plant-based milks were shown to have the opposite effect, but goat’s milk still contains all the essential ingredients to aid growth.

So, all in all, goat’s milk will not magically make you taller.

You’ll have to incorporate it as part of a balanced diet and exercise.

If you’ve already stopped growing, there’s nothing you can do to make yourself taller.

If you are still developing, lead the healthiest possible lifestyle that you can, and you’ll stand tall and proud.
