I’ve been having some trouble with a yeast infection recently.
It’s not been pleasant, and it’s the first time I’ve had one, so it has been a bit difficult to say the least.
The number one thing I’m concerned with is what originally caused it so that I can stop it from happening again, if possible.
Having never had one before, though, I wasn’t really familiar with what causes them.
I realized I had started using a new goat milk soap recently, and so I wondered if it could, have had anything to do with that. I decided to find out.
So, can goat milk soap cause yeast infection?
No, it can’t. In fact, goat milk soap is highly moisturizing and exfoliating, and can be a great way to aid the symptoms of a yeast infection. There is nothing in it that could realistically cause a yeast infection, although you may still have an adverse reaction to it.
So, goat milk soap is very unlikely, indeed virtually impossible, to be the cause of your yeast infection.
Many report that use of goat milk soap is a really great way to treat the infection in the short term, so it really has the opposite effect, if anything.
Let’s look further into this.
Is goat milk soap bad for yeast infection?
Not really, no.
Firstly, can it be the cause?
Almost certainly not.
There should be no yeast in the goat milk at all, really, to cause the infection in the first place.
It’s not impossible that it might transfer the yeast from elsewhere—so make sure the soap is properly stored, and not developing fungal molds on it.
Other than that, goat milk soap can be very good for a yeast infection.
However, everyone’s skin is different, so you need to be very careful about what you apply before you use it in any large amount.
Especially if that area is already suffering in some way.
Your particular skin may not react that well to goat milk soap, so if you have any doubts, try it extensively on other areas of your body first.
You could make the infection, or at least the symptoms of it, worse if you apply a soap to which you are even slightly allergic.
Let’s look at how it could actually benefit the infection, then.
Is goat milk soap good for yeast infections?
Goat milk soap does have a lot of great benefits for those whose skin can handle it, and certainly, these benefits would be great for a yeast infection.
Most importantly, goat milk soap can be a good treatment for a yeast infection because of its moisturizing properties.
One of the main symptoms of a yeast infection is dry, flaky skin, and goat milk soap will certainly aid in this area.
The other way it can be of great benefit is in its exfoliating qualities.
It not only moisturizes the skin, it also gently scrubs away the outer layer to uncover the healthier skin underneath.
Full-on exfoliation is usually too harsh on a yeast infection, but a gentle, natural exfoliant like goat milk soap is exfoliating and smooth.
All of this said, though, so far all we’ve looked at are treatments for the symptoms and not the root cause of the yeast infection.
Unfortunately, soap will not really be able to eliminate a fungal infection—any kind of soap.
That said, does goat milk soap have any antifungal properties?

Is goat milk soap antifungal?
No, is the short answer.
It may have some antifungal properties, and as I said, when it comes to a yeast infection, it can help.
However, there’s really nothing inherent in goat milk soap that can directly combat the fungal infection which causes the yeast infection.
In order to address the root cause of the issue, you will need to use a specially formulated medication meant to address yeast and fungal infections generally.
There are some soaps, with goat milk bases, that also contain essential oils with antifungal properties.
You could, however, find those same properties in non-goat milk soap.
If you want to properly treat a yeast infection, you need medication, in combination with a moisturizing soap—but the right one!
Some could make it worse.
What causes yeast infections?
There is a fungus called Candida Albicans which is the most common cause of yeast infections.
Unfortunately, by and large, yeast infections are difficult to avoid and are often a natural part of development.
They are easy to treat, though, with the right medications.
Most clear up within a week, even as little as three days if they are caught early enough.
The best way to prevent them from happening in the first place is to keep the areas where they occur as clean as possible.
Before they have formed an infection, then you can remove the bacteria which causes the infection just by ordinary washing.
So keep yourself clean and you shouldn’t have much problem with yeast infections.
Your yeast infection may have been caused by a variety of things, then, but it’s very unlikely it was the result of using goat milk soap.
That said, it’s not impossible that you are having some kind of allergic reaction to the goat milk soap which is making the infection worse.
For the right skin type, goat milk soap can be really good in treating a yeast infection.
But you should always take precautions and try these things in small areas first.
